Snoring - A Consequence of Lack of Sleep
Snoring is mainly caused due to lack of sleep. Snoring can be precisely defined as a condition in which sound comes due to the turbulent airflow. Snoring is a sound caused due to vibrations, which enforces the air particles to produce sound waves. It is mainly the result of lack of sleep. Not only snoring, but there are many other problems that arise due to lack of sleep. It includes Insomnia, lack of interest in social gatherings, rude behavior and health ups and downs. Snoring can occur at any stage of life. Such type of Insomnia is usually observed in the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. This kind of sleeping disorder results due to the muscular trouble. During this kind of sleep, the brain sends signals to all the muscles of the body with the exception of breathing muscles. Sensatorysignals are produced that cause a sense of relaxation. Snoring can becomeproblematic when throat, tongue and palate collapse all together during themuscular relaxation. Anybody can suffer from snoring due to lack of sleep. Inorder to overcome this trouble, many people seek help of sleeping aids. Moreover, persons who are not affected by this disorder in the early stages of their life might suffer in future due to prolonged illness or excessive intake of pills. There are some people who suffer from snoring problem after drinking alcohol. To have a sound sleep, some people take the help of sleep aid pills. Sleep aid pills help a lot in overcoming the trouble of insomnia. Snoring is not really a medical problem but more of a social problem. It is likely to affect others more than affecting the snorer. It largely disturbs the sleep of the room partner. In order to measure the gravity of problem, a series of tests are recommended by the physicians, which are mentioned below: * Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) : This test is conducted after an overnight sleep. This test determines the speed at which one falls asleep during the day time. * The Maintenance of wakefulness Test (MWT): This test is also conducted to measure the amount of sleep during the day time. This test is more often conducted on the airline pilots and truck drivers for safety of general public. There are a variety of non-surgical treatments that a snorer can undergo in order to overcome the trouble of lack of sleep. Study of behavioral changes can be valuable in finding out the real reason behind lack of sleep. It will also prove to be useful in determining the best remedial treatment. Some of the symptoms associated with the problem of snoring are weight loss, reduction in the intake of alcohol and changes in the sleeping position. You should avoid taking sleep aid pills to cure snoring. You can rather seek the help of sleep aids or can buy a variety of sleep aid products such as head straps, pillows and lubricating sprays to overcome snoring. |
